U3A stands for a self help organisation for people not in full time employment. Who are able to take up educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly and informal setting.
The U3A approach to learning is learning for pleasure. There is no accreditation or validation and there are no assessments or qualifications. Local U3As are autonomous, self help organisations, bringing members with similar interests together to form common Interest Groups.
We are self-financing and nonprofit making with no political or religious influence or allegiance.
